Good Afternoon St. Augustin Families,
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year, in science of course! I am ready to begin a scientific, inquiry based, challenging science curriculum with your child/ren. I hope that your summers went well and that the Ss are as excited as I am to get started.
A few FYI notes:
In the first couple of days your child/ren will be bringing home some handouts. I would like you to review the handouts with them. I especially want you to pay close attention to the; Parent letter, Safety Contract, and the Science Laboratory Of Obligation Criteria when Absenteeism Occurs. There is a great deal of 'science' information found in those papers.
I use this web page to visit with parents and give an overall view of what is happening in the laboratory setting. I do not put homework assignments on here because most of the work is done in class. 6th graders have few assignments outside the classroom and 7th and 8th do frequent Section Reviews. I rarely indicate on here when quizzes will be held. However, I do not give pop quizzes and Ss are aware of the information I am looking for on a quiz. Ss also know my expectations for any investigation we do.
I post grades every Monday on ed-line beginning the second or third week of school.
I know you have heard I am passionate about science and look forward to our school year together.
God a Bless,
Mrs. Beimer
