Iowa Kids Safe Online Poster

Cybersecurity Awareness - Kids Safe Online Poster Contest

Congratulations to St. Augustin fifth grader, Lilly Hutchins, who won the K-5 category of the Iowa Kids Safe Online Poster Contest!  Lilly received a wood plaque of the State of Iowa, and her entry has been forwarded to the Multi-State Information Sharing & Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) Information Security Division for the national poster contest.  A very special thank you to Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Crawford for collaborating on this special activity for our students.

Each year the MS-ISAC and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security invite kindergarten through twelfth grade students across the nation to participate in a design contest to get students thinking about cybersecurity through the creation of posters that depict ways to use the Internet safely and securely.

Winners from each grade group (K-5, 6-8, 9-12) are selected at the state level before their posters are forwarded to the national contest with a chance to have their artwork featured in the 2019 Cybersecurity Awareness Calendar, which will be distributed throughout the country and used in campaigns to raise awareness about Internet and computer safety.
