Dear St. Augustin families,

 

     As you may know, the Royal Founders Club is a fundraising effort undertaken each year to benefit St. Augustin School. Since its founding in 1989, the Royal Founders Club has become a critical funding source and has helped raise more than $1 million for capital improvement projects and expenditures that enhance the educational experience our children receive that are not covered by tuition or the Saint Augustin Parish operating budget.

 

     Through the generosity of parents, grandparents, and alumni, the Royal Founders Club raised more than $84,000 last year, making it possible to purchase technology upgrades including Chromebooks, device charging carts, a GoGuardian subscription, Clear Touch Interactive Display Boards, and improvements to the school networking system.

 

     Contributions to this year’s Royal Founders Club initiative will be directed toward renovating the school gymnasium.  For nearly 30 years, the gym has served as a physical education classroom and a multipurpose space hosting many special events including assemblies, student and community sports programs, music performances and band concerts, indoor recess, after-care activities, fellowship gatherings, and a place of worship for hosting Mass.  After many years of love, the gym is showing its age and needs improvements; many of the surfaces and equipment are original to the space.  Capital improvement project planning is underway to resurface and repaint the gym flooring, repair interior and exterior precast structural joints, install a new ADA compliant automatic bleacher system with railings, paint the interior ceiling and walls, install new adjustable basketball hoops, and install new theatrical lighting and sound systems.  We have a fundraising goal of $100,000 to attain the aforementioned projects.

 

     Easter is near, and soon it will be a joyous season of new beginnings.  We invite you to be a part of the 2023 Royal Founders Club and support this worthwhile cause of bringing new life to the school gym and furthering the efforts of the club to make meaningful contributions for current and future needs.  The requested donation is $1,500 or more.  If your employer offers matching funds, we encourage you to explore that option.  We are mindful that this is a significant amount, but we sincerely hope that you see the corresponding benefits that the students at St. Augustin School are afforded through your support.  The renovation of the school gym supports the whole school community and grows our ability to provide an exceptional student experience.

 

     To ensure tax deductibility, please make checks payable to St. Augustin School with Royal Founders Club noted on the memo line.  Checks should be mailed to St. Augustin School, attention to Principal Kristel Spike.  Members of the Royal Founders Club will be recognized at an appreciation dinner on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at the Django Reinhardt Room.  Please save the date if you are able to join us in celebration.
