Meet Mr. Simpson

I am excited to start year two as the Middle School Science Teacher at St. Augustin Catholic School, and year forty-one in education.  

Below is a summary of the Mr. Simpson Timeline below:

• Native Iowan, growing up in Ogden, Iowa, and a graduate from Ogden High School.
• Attended Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, earning my BAE and was a Wildcat "W" Letterwinner in Track & Field.
• First teaching job was Middle & High School Science Teacher in the Manilla CSD. in Manilla, Iowa.  Head Coach of the Track/Field and Cross Country programs.
• Thirty-two years I spent at Jefferson-Scranton CSD. as a High School Science Teacher and Varsity Head Coach of the Ram Track/Field and Cross Country programs.
• Earned a Masters of Science Degree in Science Education from the University of Iowa.
• Retired from education for ten weeks.
• Returned to teaching serving as the Middle School Science Teacher at St. Anthony Catholic School on the "Southside" of Des Moines for six years.
• Year two as the Middle School science Teacher at St. Augustin.

About my family:

• My wife's name is Amy and we live in Ankeny.
• We have seven adult children between the two of us.
• Enjoy five grandchildren.
• Three dogs--Wrigley (Golden Retriever), Moose (Golden Retriever), and Queen Emma (Pound Puppy Basset/Beagle mix)

Outside of school, I enjoy:

• Amy and I like to bike on the local trails and on some years participate on RAGBRAI
• Travel
• Swim
• Boat
• Cheer for the Cyclones, Aggies, Gators, Mustangs, Bears, Twins, and Cubs!!!!!
