Meet Ms. Olson

This is my first year teaching! I am so excited and thankful to be a part of St. Augustin Catholic School.

I'm a Des Moines native and went to the high school down the road that boasts a tiger as their mascot... Won't say anything else! :-) I attended University of North Dakota and Drake University, where I was fortunate enough to play soccer and meet many wonderful people.  

 

What I enjoy most about teaching: I enjoy getting to know my students personally, watching them as they learn new ideas/concepts, and listening to what they have to say. 

About my family: My parents (Cary and Shelley), three sisters (Daisee, Emelyn and Grace), brother-in-law (Cole), and nephew (Woodson) all live in West Des Moines! We love to drink coffee together, play pickle ball, and listen to my dad play his guitar. 

What I enjoy doing outside of school: I love to stay active by going on runs with my English Cream Retriever (Sunny), lifting, and playing pick up soccer! I also enjoy reading! My favorite book that I read this summer was The Abolition of Man by C.S. Lewis. :-)
