Meet Ms. Lone
This is my thirteenth year of teaching at St. Augustin. I teach seventh grade Reading and eighth grade Reading and Language Arts, and 7th grade Math. I also serve in the administrative office as Lead Teacher.
I grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa, and attended Sacred Heart School and Dowling Catholic High School. I attended the University of Northern Iowa for my undergraduate education and Morningside College for my Masters Degree. I am currently working on my Administration Certificate through Viterbo University and will complete it in Spring 2024.
What I enjoy most about teaching: I love teaching the middle school students. They are such a fun age to work with because they are independent, kind, funny, and creative. Every day is different, and there are always challenges, but I couldn’t imagine teaching a more enjoyable age group!
About my family: I have one son, James, who will be three in August. Most of my time outside of school is spent chasing him around, and I wouldn't have it any other way. We love to be outside and stay busy going on all sorts of adventures.
What I enjoy doing outside of school: I love to read and bake in my free time. I also enjoy traveling. During the summer, I like to spend time outdoors or ride my bike.
