Meet Ms. Edwards

Welcome to St. Augustin Middle School Math! I am excited to work with the students and their parents to have an awesome year in middle school math. My goal for my students is to feel inspired, confident, and valued at the end of every class. I strive to do this by providing an engaging, challenging curriculum along with a welcoming environment. We value mistakes in my class, as that’s when the learning happens. I look forward to a successful school year full of learning and fun!

Fun Facts about Ms. Edwards:

• LOVES, LOVES, LOVES teaching math!

• Began teaching at St. Augustin in August 2025

• Veteran teacher with 38 years of experience as a classroom teacher. 

• Has taught multiple grade levels: 1st grade (Cypress, Texas), 4th grade (Arlington, Texas), middle school math for 7 years (Winamac, Indiana & Carlisle, Iowa), & high school math for 21 years (Fort Dodge, Iowa)

• Attended Eastern Illinois University (BSE)) & Iowa State University (MSE in Educational Leadership)

• Has 4 grown children and fortunate to have them all living in the Des Moines area

• Has 3 beautiful, fun, energetic 2 year old granddaughters - MY JOY!!

• Enjoys live music from stadium concerts to a single guitar on the deck

• Loves to travel - by car, boat, plane, train; here, there, anywhere!

• Huge Iowa Hawkeye & Indiana Fever fan
