Meet Mrs. Brown 

I have been teaching for 40 years -- and 39 have been at St. Augustin Catholic School! I grew up on a farm near Denison, Iowa, and I attended Iowa State University.

What I like most about teaching: Watching the children grow academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally and knowing I had a role in their success and growth is so rewarding. I enjoy watching and listening to the children's reactions when they learn how to do something they didn't think possible. Young students are eager and have great energy and humor.

About my family: I have been married to my wonderful husband for 40 years. We have four children -- three daughters and one son. All of our children are married, so we have three great sons-in-law as well as a wonderful daughter-in-law. We have eleven beautiful grandchildren! My husband and I have a Newfoundland dog named Lucy  and an English Golden Retriever named Rudy.

Outside of school I enjoy: I like spending as much time with my family as possible. I love to travel. I like cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bears.
