St. Augustin Student Technology Contract
Please read the statements below. As a St. Augustin student, you are required to abide by the following expectations with your school Chromebook.
Chromebook Expectations:
o I will take care of the Chromebook assigned to me.
o I will never leave any Chromebook unattended in an unsecured or unsupervised location.
o I will keep food and beverages away from the Chromebooks.
o I will not disassemble any part of the Chromebooks or attempt any repairs.
o I will protect all Chromebooks by always carrying them in a secure manner to avoid damage.
o I will use the Chromebook in ways that are appropriate for education and as directed by the teacher.
o I will not place decorations (stickers, markers, writing, etc.) on the Chromebook.
o I will not change the home screen on a Chromebook.
o I understand that the Chromebook I am issued is subject to inspection at any time without notice, and it remains the property of St Augustin Catholic School.
o I will follow the policies outlined in the Chromebook Policy Handbook and the School Acceptable Use Policy and AI Policy while at school as well as outside the school day.
o I will be responsible for all damage or loss caused by neglect or abuse.
o I agree to pay the full replacement cost of a Chromebook and/or power cord/charger if any of these items are intentionally damaged.
o I agree to return the Chromebook to the cart at the end of each class and plug it in.
If misuse of technology occurs, the following consequences apply:

First Offense
|
You will not be able to use your Chromebook for one week.

Second Offense
|
You will not be able to use your Chromebook for two weeks.
|

Third Offense
|
You will not be able to use your Chromebook for three weeks.
|

Fourth Offense
|
You will be placed on a Technology Behavior Plan with Ms. Caligiuri for one month.

Examples of inappropriate Chromebook usage include:
o Playing games
o Using another student’s Chromebook
o Sending emails or chats to other students during class
o Creating Google Docs/Sheets/etc. that are not for an assignment
o Changing my Chromebook background
o Researching something that is not for a class
o Looking up answers to math questions
o Taking pictures/videos on the Chromebook camera (unless assigned for a class)
o AI usage to complete any part of an assignment
What happens if I lose my Chromebook privileges?
Ms. Caligiuri will keep your Chromebook for the appropriate amount of time. You will know when you get your Chromebook privileges back by looking at the calendar on Ms. Caligiuri’s Technology Center bulletin board. Your name will be written on your return date along with the shelf number that it is in. On the Chromebook return date, you must complete a check-in form and conference with Ms. Caligiuri. This must happen before school, after school, or during study hall.
