St. Augustin Student Technology Contract
Please read the statements below. As a St. Augustin student, you are required to abide by the following expectations with your school Chromebook.
Chromebook Expectations:
- I will take good care of the Chromebook assigned to me.
- I will never leave any Chromebook unattended in an unsecured or unsupervised location.
- I will keep food and beverages away from the Chromebooks.
- I will not disassemble any part of the Chromebooks or attempt any repairs.
- I will protect all Chromebooks by always carrying them in a secure manner to avoid damage.
- I will use the Chromebook in ways that are appropriate for education and as directed by the teacher.
- I will not place decorations (stickers, markers, writing, etc.) on the Chromebook.
- I will not change the home screen on a Chromebook.
- I understand that the Chromebook I am issued is subject to inspection at any time without notice, and it remains the property of St Augustin Catholic School.
- I will follow the policies outlined in the Chromebook Policy Handbook and the School Acceptable Use Policy while at school as well as outside the school day.
- I will be responsible for all damage or loss caused by neglect or abuse.
- I agree to pay the full replacement cost of a Chromebook and/or power cord/charger if any of these items are intentionally damaged.
- I agree to return the Chromebook to the cart at the end of each class and plug it in.
If misuse of technology occurs, the following consequences apply:

Consequence

First Offense
|
You will not be able to use your Chromebook for one week. If a teacher specifically says that you need a Chromebook for class, you may check one out from Room 203.

Second Offense
|
You will not be able to use your Chromebook for two weeks. If a teacher specifically says that you need a Chromebook for class, you may check one out from Room 203.

Third Offense
|
You will not be able to use your Chromebook for three weeks. If a teacher specifically says that you need a Chromebook for class, you may check one out from Room 203.

Fourth Offense
|
You will be placed on a Technology Behavior Plan with Ms. Caligiuri for one month.

If your Chromebook has been taken, you are NOT allowed to check out a Chromebook unless a teacher SPECIFICALLY says that you can come to Ms. Caligiuri’s room and get a Chromebook.
If your Chromebook has been taken, you are NOT allowed to check out a Chromebook to work on ALEKS or to complete any work in study hall.
Examples of inappropriate Chromebook usage include:
- Playing games
- Using another student’s Chromebook
- Leaving my Chromebook in the hallway or in a classroom
- Sending emails or chats to other students during class
- Creating Google Docs/Sheets/etc. that are not for an assignment
- Changing my Chromebook background
- Researching something that is not for a class
- Looking up answers to math questions
What happens if I get my Chromebook taken away?
Ms. Caligiuri will keep your Chromebook for the appropriate amount of time. You will know when you get your Chromebook privileges back by looking at the calendar on this board. Your name will be written on your return date, along with the shelf number that it is in. On the Chromebook return date, you must complete a check-in form and conference with Ms. Caligiuri. This must happen before school, after school, or during study hall.
